Around this time each year we generally take a little time to pause and take stock of all that’s happened over the last 12 months and each time we do we find ourselves humbled by the journey that this amazing “job” takes us on. We consider ourselves to be eternal students of light and composition and with open minds strive always for self-improvement. These aspirations push us to try to create ever more dynamic, layered and original imagery and our ultimate goal is for our work to evoke more than just a passing response, even in a viewer that wasn’t necessarily in attendance.
For us this last year has felt like a coming together of many different aspects of photography we have been working on for some time and whilst we’re only just getting started, this year has seen a style emerge that we feel is the truest version of ourselves and one that we absolutely love to shoot in. Our journey over the last 12 months has seen us shooting solely for ourselves on the streets of cities around the world (Havana, Mallorca and Barcelona being amongst the highlights!) and the creative freedom this has allowed us has instilled an even firmer grasp of what we want to achieve. With Story, Light, Moment and Composition always in our minds and at the forefront of everything we try to do we’ve met some amazing couples who share our feelings and ethos about photography along the way.
It’s those fantastic couples who believed in our philosophy and put their faith in us to capture their day in our own unique way that have helped us to this point and we’re proud to have been awarded yesterday as ‘Best Wedding Photographer in the North East’ by The Wedding Industry Awards for the second year running. Thanks so much to every one of our couples who voted for us, trusted us with their memories and allowed us to capture their day York Place style!
