African & Nigerian Wedding Photography Documentary Storytelling for Traditional Customs, Church Services & Civil Ceremonies

African wedding photography & films - it's all about the atmosphere...

To truly capture an African wedding it can't just be a pretty picture, it has to have soul.
African weddings are not just events; they are spectaculars. From the vibrant colours of the Aso-Ebi to the uncontainable energy of the Money Spray, the atmosphere is electric.
We specialize in capturing the chaos, colour, and charisma of Nigerian, Ghanaian, and African weddings across the UK. We know that these celebrations are about more than just the couple; they are about the coming together of two families and a whole community.
Whether it’s the solemn traditions of the Introduction or the non-stop party of the reception entrance, our unposed, documentary style ensures we capture the real spirit of your day—loud, proud, and unapologetically joyful.

Capturing the warmth, beauty and fun of the occasion.

African weddings are some of the liveliest events we've ever been so lucky as to be a part of. They mix a fun, vibrant party atmosphere and celebrations with truly heartfelt, touching and emotional ceremonies, making them some of our favourite weddings to photograph and film. African weddings bring together a community, and we love to capture not just what the bride and groom got up to but all of the guests. When you look through your album or watch your wedding films we want you to feel the love in the room, to be taken back to that place and remember the greatest celebration of your lives. Every film we make and photograph we take is unique to the couple in front of us. We never try to recreate what we've done before, we want to truly immerse ourselves in the day and capture the feel and personality of your wedding. Even with 20 years experience behind us we've never photographed a wedding like yours before and we never will again.

Traditional & Church Ceremony Expertise

We understand that for many couples, the wedding is a multi-stage journey.

The Traditional Engagement: We love the rich culture of the traditional ceremony. Whether it’s the banter of the Alaga or the emotional prostration of the groom, we capture the respect and the humour of these ancient customs without interfering.

The “White Wedding” Church or Civil Ceremony: From the service to the reception party, we switch gears to capture the glamour and the scale of the main event. We are experts at navigating crowded dancefloors to get right in the middle of the action during the entrance dances and the spraying of the money.

Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answer? We don’t mind. Because our style is purely documentary, we aren’t rigidly following a script; we are just capturing the story as it unfolds in front of us. If the timeline slips, we just keep shooting the reality of the day. To eliminate timing anxiety completely, we highly recommend our Unlimited Coverage option, ensuring we can be there from the very start until the very end of the party, no matter how late it goes.

Yes. We thrive on the energy of large crowds! Our multi-person team structure is designed specifically for this. We can split up to cover different angles of the room, ensuring that even with hundreds of guests, we are capturing the key moments and the atmosphere effectively.

Yes. We often cover multi-day celebrations. Whether your events are back-to-back or spread over different days, we offer bespoke packages to cover the full story of your union—from the cultural richness of the Traditional Engagement to the glamour of the Church or Civil ceremony.

Yes (if you want them!), but without pausing the party. We know that with large extended families, group shots can take time. Because we have two lead photographers, we can split the role: while one efficiently manages the formal portraits, the other continues to roam the reception, capturing the candid laughter and interactions happening just out of frame.

We get right in the middle of it! We know that the spraying of the money is one of the most energetic parts of the night. We don’t stand back with long lenses; we use wide angles and get close to the action to capture the motion, the flying cash, and the sheer joy of the moment.

Yes, and for a high-energy African wedding, it’s a game-changer. The sound, the drumming, and the entrance dances look incredible on film. Because we work as a unified family team, our photographers and videographers move around each other instinctively, ensuring we capture the cinematic scale of your day without blocking each other’s shots.
