The Ravenswood – Wedding Photography With Gemma & John
And Now For Something Completely Different …
Inventive and highly personal wedding photographed at The Ravenswood in West Sussex
THE BREAKDOWN
Wedding Location: The Ravenswood, Cinder Hill, Sharpthorne, West Sussex, RH19 4HY
In brief: Monty Python themed wedding in the heart of Sussex
It has been a little while since we last blogged but behind the scenes of York Place HQ we have been very busy! We have been revamping and redesigning our website, building on the core principles on which we built our present site one and adding in lots of new features which we will be excited to share soon! And, of course, WEDDINGS ARE BACK! We are so happy to have captured quite a few weddings now, a vast array of exciting outdoor spaces from intimate family garden parties to stunning canal-side gazebos. We cannot wait to share lots of new images very soon…
But now for something completely different…
Before we get onto the new images of 2021 we still have some unfinished business with 2019 and 2020 and some fantastic weddings left to share!
So what can you say about a wedding that includes a 16-ton weight hanging over the dance floor, a dead parrot centrepiece with beautiful plumage, a cake squashing, holy hand-grenade ring box, albatrosses for sale and a ceremony squeezed in before The Git Family Disemboweling Party … it can only be Gemma and John’s Flying Circus of a Monty Python wedding!
The couple are, to say the least, superfans and pulled out all the stops to make their wedding thoroughly Pythonesque and utterly unique to them. They created every prop, sourced every piece of memorabilia and even had a special guest appearance from Python star Carol Cleveland to create the most unique, personal and brilliantly silly wedding that we have ever had the pleasure to photograph.
We were like Knights that say Ni in a field of Shrubbery (aka kids in a candy store) exploring all the bizarre and incredible documentary opportunities that Gemma and John had cooked up for us.
It’s been a strange time in the year or so since Gemma & John tied the knot and a tough one for all of us, but just remember:
If life seems jolly rotten
There’s something you’ve forgotten
And that’s to laugh and smile and dance and sing
When you’re feeling in the dumps
Don’t be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle, that’s the thing
And always look on the bright side of life
Dom & Liam
Right stop that, it’s silly, very silly! It started out as a nice little blog post about some lovely people getting married but now it’s just gone silly.
