ALLY & ALEX // HEDSOR HOUSE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY BY DOM & LIAM
We’ve always been a wedding photography duo here at York Place but our couples sometimes ask us whether having two wedding photographers is really necessary. After all plenty of photographers work solo for just about every wedding they shoot so why do we choose to always work together?
The simple answer is that whilst either one of us could certainly capture a wedding on our own it’s impossible for one photographer to be in two places at once. The real spontaneous documentary moments we love and believe are so often the most important can happen at any time. They don’t stop whilst group shots are organised, they don’t wait for you whilst you’re in another room and they happen even if you’re mid-ceremony and unable to change your position. And when the venue provides unusual vantage points like a balcony over the ceremony being able to be in two places at once can be the difference in whether or not you can make use of the opportunities afforded to you…
Great style, great party!
Hedsor House was one of those venues that was a dream for two photographers; multiple rooms where lots of different stories were taking place and balconies to all four walls of the ceremony, reception and dancing! We had an absolute blast going to Buckinghamshire for Ally and Alex and capturing their Hedsor House wedding photography – our gorgeous New York couple chose to hold a stylish black tie affair with everyone looking their absolute best but the stars of the show still dazzled in every frame! In fact we had to make a conscious effort to not include them in every single dance floor photograph as Ally’s smile was so bright (even from the balcony!) it was difficult to drag the cameras away even for a second!
Speaking of dancing, boy what a party it was! The Latin Funkers set the tone as their latin grooves inspired some impromptu afternoon dancing before evening entertainment Soul Beat took over and had everyone up on the dance floor (not least our party animal bride and groom!) till the early hours.
There are so many moments we’d love to share from this wonderful wedding and it was tricky to highlight just a small portion but here are just a few of our favourite frames from a fantastic day (and night!) at Hedsor House, full of colour, character and amazing candid moments.
