To us, wedding photographs and films are not just about commemorating one special day, they're a celebration of our couples: your personalities, your relationship and all the people closest to your hearts. It's not just your wedding we look to document, it's this time in your lives together.

Our unposed, documentary style of filming and photography means you never need to think about the camera. We won't ask you to do anything, we won't request that you move to a particular place, repeat an action or stand and pose for the camera (unless you want to!) Our approach adopts the spontaneity of the moment, looking for small unexpected stories every bit as much as the scheduled big beats of the wedding day. Our work is all about revealing real personality, real friendships and everything that makes your relationship so special. To us every wedding is completely unique; it's not about what worked before or what wedding photographs might be expected to look like; it's simply all about you.

The most powerful moments are often the ones you least expect. We love the big stories - the ceremony, the rings, the first dance, and we'll be there to capture all of them, but between each of those traditional markers a thousand stories emerge at every wedding. We're always looking for those off-moments that tell us everything about you, your family and friends - the in-jokes, the knowing looks, the moments lost in thought and the symmetry and juxtapositions between the people and objects we find around us. Forget any preconceptions about what your wedding can be or what your photographs or films might look like. The greatest memories don't always come from the biggest moments, but big or small we'll be there to capture them all on photo and film.

York Place Studios is Dominique, Liam, Alex & Matt - a family team of photographers and videographers from Yorkshire. Because we're family we know how each other think and what we're looking for. Because we're a team we understand that some moments will look best in photo & others best in film.
