CAROLINE & SID // BARN DRIFT NORFOLK WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY BY DOM & LIAM
This was the message that we received from Caroline and Sid last year and instantly we were in love! In love with them, their wedding and most importantly with the type of images that they wanted us to capture. It matters more than anything to us that brides and grooms connect with our style and that they receive the type of photographs that they want. After all there are no 2nd chance with a wedding and so it is incredibly important to us that they love our images as much as we love crafting them.
Finding the right couples and taking the type of images that you as their photographer just can’t help taking is something that we feel passionate about. It’s also something we feel is an important message in the wider wedding photography industry. Our photographs aren’t for everyone: if you want stylised portraits then you simply aren’t going to book us and to us that is actually a good thing! We want all brides and grooms to be 100% happy with their wedding photography and for that to happen you need to find the perfect fit.
Speaking of Documentary Wedding Photography…
A few years ago we decided it was time to try to give something back to the wedding industry. We wanted to share some of our own ideas about photography. We wanted to help others find their own path as wedding photographers. And so, for the first time, we started talking. First in our “Best-Of” videos, then on stage and finally in workshops. What was perhaps a little unexpected to us was how much we instantly really enjoyed the process! We loved sharing our thoughts, seeing one or two light-bulbs switch on in our students brains’ and we really appreciated the feedback we received in return.
Helping the industry was a wonderful and rewarding opportunity and something that we have always done ever since. With that in mind we launched York Place Training a few days ago – /wedding-photography-training/ and we are so excited to start! With mentorships already booked in March, Workshops in April and November and a lot of travelling this year to Bali, Barcelona, Mexico, Poland, America for speaking events, workshops, street trips and weddings we can’t wait to start the 2019 season in earnest! Until then we are going to be preparing the studio for our first students, prepping the talks and workshops, spring-cleaning the website, writing new content and of course creating the “Best of 2018 wedding photography” post.
COMING SOON.
