Here at York Place we love being a part of Indian weddings – the colour, the traditions, the often overwhelming emotion and the always crazy dance floor always make for an incredible event. Add a couple like Kavi and Sheena into the mix though and, as we learned over two amazing days, things get even more exciting!
Day one of this stunning wedding took place in the old masonic surroundings of Leicester’s Devonshire Place for Kavi and Sheena’s Civil Ceremony and Indian Engagement where the ultra-laid back and always joking Kavi and the beautiful and oh so sweet Sheena started their day nervously awaiting their first look in the first of many wedding outfits!
Speaking of nerves, though always outwardly cool, calm and collected Kavi had more than one reason to be nervous on day 2 as not only would this be the day of the Indian wedding itself but our groom’s beloved Arsenal would also be looking to make the day extra special with an FA Cup winning performance at Wembley. So where better to hold the wedding than the English FA’s multi-million pound purpose built training venue St George’s Park with the match live-streamed during the evening drinks reception!
Throughout both days there were so many incredible moments from Kavi’s arrival surrounded by drums and dancing to the bride and groom being hoisted on the shoulders of their guests after an epic guys vs girls dance-off and it was an absolute privilege to be there to capture all of the action. Thanks so much to Kavi and Sheena for inviting us to be a part of it and to all their amazing family and friends for making us so incredibly welcome!
