Item 1
Present
One of our mantras as photographers is “stay in the moment”. It’s a reminder to stay present – to take in everything around us and immerse ourselves entirely in what is in front of us. We want to not just see but feel the atmosphere, to fully experience our surroundings in that moment, and consider the wider context later.
Here our protagonist experiences his surroundings in a different way – entirely immersive yet entirely detached. The modern need for instant knowledge contrasting a monument to 2000 long years of history you can almost feel within the stone.
A quiet paradox emerges – to be here and not here, to look at history and yet not see it.
