Castle Howard Wedding | Fran & Neil | York
Being a recommended Castle Howard Wedding Photographer is really such a cool gig as there are so many amazing places to photograph that sometimes it’s difficult to know where to begin! We always enjoy photographing a wedding in York and Castle Howard is one of our absolute favourite locations so we were delighted when Fran and Neil ask us to be a part of their wedding day and enjoy such a photographic treat! We started the day at the bride to be’s parents house in the middle of York and we were immediately greeted with so many overjoyed faces: our beautiful bride, her parents and a whole flock of bridesmaids, each one beaming and excited about the day ahead. Our gorgeous and clever couple had decided on a Secret Garden theme for the Castle Howard wedding and they had ensured that every detail was perfect, starting in the parents house and continuing on to Castle Howard.
The ceremony took place at St Wilfrid’s Catholic Church, literally minutes away from York Minster (so we took a little detour for some pictures outside!) and then onto Castle Howard where the day split into two very funky and distinct parts; one in the Rose Garden where the Secret Garden theme was very much a part of it; keys hanging from a tree and the Secret Garden novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett taking pride of place, and then onto the Majestic interior of Castle Howard where the guests first enjoyed some beautiful piano playing performed by a friend then a fabulous meal in the Long Gallery; as regal a room as you could hope to imagine from the jewel in the crown of Yorkshire wedding venues.
Our favourite thing about this wedding though had to be the dancing! In fact it was so awesome that we ended up staying until the end as we just couldn’t stop ourselves from taking more and more frames! The bride was spinning, the groom was being lifted into the air (as was our bride later!), the guests were jumping and they even had a midnight round of croquet… so many fun times were had by all and we were so happy to capture it all for our lovely couple.
