In brief: A RuPaul’s Drag Race themed wedding in the city of London and a traditional Chinese tea ceremony in a Fan Museum.
SARAH & WILL // ONE GREAT GEORGE STREET WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY BY DOM & LIAM
Well it is difficult to know where to start with Sarah and Will’s incredible wedding at One Great George Street but we knew it was going to be epic from the very first email they sent us. When they described their photographic passions as focussing on powerful composition with a real moodiness and shared with us some of their favourite photography books by Gregory Crewdson, Nan Goldin and Alex Prager we knew we were in for a treat. Their second email was just as intriguing and we got a real sense of this creative, dynamic pairing and the sensational life they both lead; from Will’s martial arts and chocolatier talents (the last of which he used to tasty effect at the Chinese Tea ceremony!) to Sarah’s creative art talents and burlesque performing and of course to their shared addiction of RuPaul’s Drag Race – a show that Dom is now an avid viewer of too! They even found a way to integrate their favourite programme into the wedding, from Will’s sensational proposal dressed in drag at the show’s London tour to their extraordinary first dance which started with a romantic song than screeched to a halt and went into a Sissy That Walk catwalk!
From shooting the traditional tea ceremony in the perfect setting of the Fan Museum to One Great George Street a very different venue but one equally full of history, this wedding was just fabulous. We had such an amazing time and we were honoured that Sarah and Will chose us to capture their dual celebrations.
