Filey Wedding Photography
Filey on the East coast of Yorkshire was the setting for the wedding at the Methodist church of Aimee and Dan. I had been looking forward to their wedding ever since September when we met for a gorgeous engagement shoot in the woodlands with just the most magical evening light. I was sure that this luck couldn’t repeat itself amongst the hard winter rain but, as I awoke with hopes of capturing the sunrise on Filey beach I was gleefully proven wrong as I stepped out to discover surely the finest weather we had experienced all December. The sky was a crystal frosty blue and the sunrise was just incredible. When the light is as perfect as it was today it really is my favourite time of the year for a wedding.
Preparations started early as the girls were all booked in at Liberty’s retreat in Scarborough. Champagne was served and everyone emerged looking beautiful and excited ready for the days wedding celebrations. Whilst the Groom and his groomsmen busied themselves getting ready final touches were being applied to the beautiful bride Aimee before her departure from her family home as a single woman, the drive to the church was a special occasion as it was not only shared with Aimee’s Father but also her Grandfather.
We look for special moments and aim to create frames that are full of emotion and truth as well as beauty. With a couple like Aimee and Dan, so obviously head over heels in love, our lenses were filled with all three wherever we looked and it was an absolute joy to capture. The ceremony at Filey Methodist church was emotional but joyous and the happy couple came out of the church to the tender song “Grow old with you” into brilliant blue skies fulfilling our aim to capture the wedding, as always, using only the natural light around us. They left in a vintage car for Ox Pasture Hall but not before taking advantage of the opportunity of ourselves taking some special wedding photographs of them on Filey seafront.
Ox Pasture Hall is a wonderful wedding venue. The room was decorated to perfection and the couple continued to beam with happiness right through the speeches, delicious food, the cutting of the cake right down to the first dance and the waving of sparklers. We reluctantly left them at Ox Pasture Hall at the end of the night knowing that the camera never lies and it would depict a truly most perfect, magical day that anyone could ever of dreamt of.
