In Brief: A beautifully relaxed, sunny Yorkshire wedding day in one of York’s most historic settings

It is no coincidence that the last time we blogged was back in June – the same month that the wedding world opened up again (albeit softly at first). Ever since it did we have been run off our feet, travelling across the UK and spending lots of time in our favourite Purple Palace Hotel rooms again (other colours of hotel are occasionally available). We have loved this wedding season, being back shooting weddings has been a privilege and we are so grateful to our wonderful and brave couples who chose to get married in 2021 and have their weddings the way they wanted.

The year 2022, meanwhile, has so far (somehow!) successfully matched its predecessor’s pace, and alongside the many fantastic weddings we have lined up (some of which we’ve already had the joy of photographing) we are also back on the speaking circuit with a vengeance after a fairly quiet (for us!) few years. We’re just back from presenting at the documentary photography event Doc Day – an absolutely unforgettable experience over in Dublin. Next up, on the 2nd of March, Dominique will be joining a fantastic panel at the Fujifilm House of Photography to discuss “Women In Photography” as part of International Women’s day. Then, coming up in a couple of weeks, we’re super-excited to be speaking at BODAF – the Biggest European Convention for Photographers in Barcelona and a little later in the year we’ll be at the Northern Ireland Photography Convention in Belfast and the Residency of the South in Somerset. 

So it’s fair to say that between all of our beautiful weddings, writing talks and workshops, refurbishing our studio, developing our new website (coming soon!) and forming lots of new plans that we’re really excited about it’s been something of a busy time since our last publication and our blog – the very place that we like to share our news – has ironically been the victim of having too much news to share!

So let’s put that right and get back to discussing the thing we love most – a wedding! Back in late September 2019 the gorgeous Megan and Cameron got married on an especially stunning day at Grays Court, York. The weather was perfect, the light glorious, two beautiful people stood in front of us in a room full of love and Peggy, the couple’s adorable little Sausage Dog, was rocking her very own wedding tutu.

What more could we ask for?
