Destination Wedding Video – Sophie & Charley, France
Travelling to a Wedding abroad is always a special experience for everyone involved; the excitement building during the journey, the thrill of exploring a new exotic place, the steady arrival of all the guests for the big day from various locations. As a cinematographer, being able to create a wedding video that captures these experiences as well as all the unique emotions emanating from the occasion is something special, and creating a special Destination Wedding Video for our fantastic couple was no different.
What was noticeably special (apart from the amazing couple themselves!) when we first met our bride and groom during their pre-wedding garden party in Sophie’s Grandparents’ beautiful little French Chateau near the elegant town of Caudebec en Caux was the sense of family spirit, love and history that surrounded us. Immediately we were made to feel as if we were old long lost friends, being handed a beer and welcomed into fascinating conversations with smiles all round!
After a fantastic evening in the French countryside with such great company we were really looking forward to the wedding day itself and it certainly didn’t disappoint! After a quick trip to the stunning venue for the couple’s outdoor wedding ceremony to film the groomsmen setting up (and in the process ending up riding a WWII vintage motorcycle complete with sidecar!) we returned with the groom to his riverside hotel for the getting ready, whilst the bride herself prepared for the day in the house where she had spent so many of her holidays growing up. Soon we were treated to a heartwarming humanist ceremony led by the bride’s Uncle, a walk around the Vineyards, a reception in the most stunning ancient thatched-roof barn we’ve ever seen and a sample of beautiful French cuisine!
Sophie and Charley are an incredible couple and thoroughly deserving of all the happiness they and their guests felt on that incredible day; it really was a joy creating this Destination Wedding Video it was truly unforgettable. Thanks for allowing us to be a part of it guys.
