As documentary photographers and filmmakers, our ethos stands apart from the traditional. We don’t believe in repeating ‘tried and tested’ routines; we believe in embracing the spontaneity of the moment to create something unique to you.
We believe that the unscripted is always more powerful than the contrived, and that truly timeless imagery comes from genuine connection—between people, between stories, and between the lens and the subject.
We reject the idea that “documentary” means “warts and all.” Just because a moment is unposed doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be flattering. We bring the same attention to light, composition, and angles that a portrait photographer does—we just do it in real-time. We wait for you to look your best naturally, rather than forcing you into a pose that doesn’t feel like you.
We don’t chase the “Pinterest Perfect” version of a wedding; we chase the real one. The wind catching a veil, the tie slightly askew from dancing, the tears that ruin the makeup. These aren’t mistakes; they are the texture of reality. We capture the character of the day, not a sanitised, artificial version of it.
We love humour, but we never punch down. We look for the comedy in the chaos—the flower girl stealing the show, the groomsman struggling with a brolly, the collision of unlikely events. We capture the joy and the absurdity of the day, but our cameras always treat you and your guests with dignity.
You are not actors, and this is not a movie set. We refuse to direct your day. We have the experience and the confidence to capture the moment perfectly the first time—no “do-overs” required. We believe that the magic lies in spontaneity, not in a staged recreation. If we need a better angle, we move our feet, not yours.

We believe a great photograph captures exactly how a moment felt. Sound adds a visceral new dimension to that experience. It is the texture of the atmosphere—the nervous crack in a voice during vows, the clinking of glasses, the roar of the crowd. We treat audio with the same reverence as visuals, building a narrative soundscape that transports you right back into the room.
We believe a photographer or filmmaker should never change the feeling of a room just to get a shot. We don’t use flash guns that kill the mood or video lights that blind your guests. We work with the available light—however dark or moody—to preserve the exact atmosphere you created.
Your wedding isn’t just about two people; it’s about the collision of all your favourite people in one room. We turn our lenses outward, hunting for the sub-plots and the interactions between your friends and family that you didn’t even know were happening.
We believe you should spend your wedding day with your friends, not your photographers. We keep portraits short (or non-existent) so you can stay in the moment. The best photos and films happen when you forget we are even there.

No compromise, just great imagery
Documentary is often told in a series, but we believe the strongest stories are told in a single click. We refuse to rely on a sequence of images to explain a moment. We strive for frames that are visually self-contained—where the narrative, the context, and the emotion are instantly clear without a single word of explanation.
We don’t stop to celebrate a good photo; we keep looking for a great one. Our internal mantra is that “there is always a better shot.” We work relentlessly through every scene, looking for alternate angles, better compositions, and deeper layers. We assume there is always a way to improve the frame until the moment is gone.
We treat the “big” moments with the gravity they deserve, but we don’t switch off our creative brains in between them. We believe a child hiding under a table deserves the same artistic attention as the First Dance. We treat every second of the day with the same intensity, because we don’t know which fleeting, unscripted moment will become the one you cherish most in twenty years’ time.
We don’t carry a template in our heads. We refuse to “paint by numbers” or try to replicate a shot we took last week. Whether your day is steeped in tradition or completely off-the-wall, we arrive without judgment and without expectation. We don’t ask what your wedding can add to our portfolio; we ask how we can truthfully capture the unique spirit of this specific celebration.
