Fountains Abbey

Fountains Abbey is a fabulous venue. Majestic in scale it has that amazing wow factor for the guests and has plenty of cool and interesting areas for us wedding photographers to explore and shoot! It was our first time at Fountains Abbey and we were so happy and excited when Vicki and Andy asked us to share in their big day and capture their memories. The day started in Ripon at the hairdressers with our gorgeous bride, her maid of honour and the three young bridesmaids having their hair done. The girls, after having their hair artfully plaited, played an amusing game of “play the hairdresser” which was hilarious to watch and certainly kept them busy! After lots of giggles and fun the girls left to go to the bride’s mothers house where the three excitable children watched some TV whilst bride Vicki got dressed into her beautiful gown. The faces of the three children (particular the oldest) was amazing, they couldn’t take their eyes off her, it was so incredibly sweet!

Meanwhile at the reception venue Oswalds of Sowerby Andy was getting ready with his family to leave for Fountains Abbey to greet his bride. The ceremony was very emotional, particularly as the registrar was a friend of the bride and groom and it was a very family orientated affair with the children being one of the main focuses of the wedding day.

It was an absolute pleasure to be part of Andy & Vicki’s wedding day at Fountains Abbey, we really enjoyed photographing all the characters and telling their special story through our eyes.
