St Marys Church & The Crown Spa, Scarborough with Gemma & Chris

Scarborough in North Yorkshire has many historical and beautiful churches but none finer than St Mary’s Church built on the site of a Roman signal station it now lies on the castle headland. The views from St Mary’s church graveyard are phenomenal as the sea views stretch as far as the eye can see. The weather did not disappoint, allowing St Mary’s to provide a wonderful setting for the wedding party, the guests and be inspirational to us Scarborough wedding photographers, allowing us to photograph North Yorkshire at its best.

In the morning Gemma was very relaxed and all bridal preparations went smoothly and without a hitch. The wedding dress and veil were picture perfect and on arrival at the church the bridesmaids greeted the bride and her father. There was even the opportunity to share some quality time together calming everyone’s nerves prior to the beginning of the service.

As the music started the guests turned in anticipation and it was time for the extremely proud father of the bride to walk his daughter down the aisle.  The church has a wonderful atmospheric feeling with its large pillars dominating the aisle and adds to the drama of the wedding day. After the formalities were complete and all the congratulations complete the bride sat down and lifted her feet showing sparkly I do words on each respective foot.

Then it was onto the drive down to the Crown Spa Hotel, another jewel in the crown for Scarborough and Yorkshire. The Crown Spa was the first purpose built hotel and opened for business in 1845 and is Scarborough’s only 4 star hotel on the Yorkshire coast. The wedding party and guests on their arrival were greeted with further wonderful views of the South bay and to Scarborough Harbour nestling in the corner of the bay.
