Carlton Towers Wedding | North Humberside
Wedding Photography at Carlton Towers in the springtime is an absolute joy, particularly when the wedding photography in question is for a couple as lovely as Thara & Andrew. Nestled in the heart of the beautiful East Yorkshire countryside in the pretty rural village of Carlton, situated conveniently between York, Doncaster, Hull and Leeds, Carlton Towers was a venue that we had been looking forward to visiting for some time. The 17th century mansion is just the perfect setting for a wedding; the classic grandeur of the gothic architecture strangely fitting in it’s altogether greener natural surroundings, fresh as they were on our visit with an abundance of life and the fresh scent of spring in the air. Carlton Towers’ luxurious interior rivals that of any of England’s finest stately homes, dating back to the Jacobean period, Regency and Victorian times with it’s three large sprawling State Rooms , 16 individually designed bedrooms and original minstrel’s gallery. It really is a stunning place, and a fantastic choice of wedding venue for such a perfect couple.
Within the luxurious furnishings of the bedrooms we found both wedding parties as they separately got themselves ready for the big day. Â Whilst the boys adorned themselves in their traditional English finery, in the ceremony room some ladies busied themselves making a beautiful display of flower petals on the floor. This, in combination with a selection of elegantly worn and intricately crafted sari’s, brought a reminder of the Bride’s proud Indian culture into this most quintessentially English of surroundings.
It was a beautiful day in every sense of the word with the opulence of the venue, bathed throughout in golden sunshine, perfectly fitting for the magnificence of the occasion. From a ceremony that was both moving and highly emotional to a flurry of confetti and a stroll around the grounds the day was just perfect. And, as the sun set in the distance and the couple took their eagerly anticipated first steps together in their first dance as husband and wife, so the evening festivities began with a joining of cultures once again as Carlton Towers’ old halls and winding corridors echoed with the sound of Indian dance music and distant laughter as the guests joined together and celebrated the joining of two incredible cultures and two very special people.
