NATALIE & LUKE // ROBIN HOOD’S BAY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY BY DOM & LIAM
Incredibly it’s now been a year since Natalie and Luke’s wedding at Robin’s Hood Bay and it was so wonderful looking through all the images again. Our absolute favourite thing was the fact that so many parts of the wedding day took place in public places around the town, giving us plenty of scope to have fun creating images layered with guests and local people alike!
Natalie and her friends got ready at the Victoria Hotel with a stunning ocean view and then walked down to The Old Chapel to greet Luke. There the couple made a truly spectacular entrance sharing an emotional first look at the top of the stairs with the wedding guests all watching on before making a simultaneous descent down the two staircases surrounded by their guests into their beautiful and very personal ceremony.
Natalie is the Founder and CEO of Tokyoesque (tokyoesque.com), an amazing international market research company and their wedding guests had come from across the world to witness the marriage (many from Japan, but also USA, Germany, Russia, and Sweden, making the sleepy Yorkshire seaside town of Robin Hoods Bay a bit of a cultural metropolis for the day!
Once the beautiful ceremony was over, the small group of friends and family, led by the bride and groom themselves, walked through the cobblestone streets and made their way on to the beach (changing into their wellies before they did so!). It was fast, furious and chaotic but that’s just what we love about weddings! We thrive in spontaneous situations and with more chaos comes the opportunity for more interesting, unexpected moments, layers and stories. After the trip to the beach we all walked to the venue at Courtyard Cottage, where we were greeted with a rustic setting, horses, bonfires and a surprise “This Is Your Life” presentation for the bride and groom!
These are some of our favourite frames from a happy day in Yorkshire; a collection of the pure, chaotic, real moments that always inspire us to press the shutter.
